Photoshop Helpsheet

A quick sheet made for a mid-low ability Year 8 group. I made this so they can get it out each lesson to help them but also so it wasn’t me continually speaking all lesson. PDF included for speed of printing. PowerPoint included in case any edits need to be made for your students
GCSE Design Technology (DT) Student Course Handbook

GCSE Design Technology (DT) Student Course Handbook

(0)
A short guide complied with all the bare details of the course and common questions students have about the course. All the information is from experience teaching the subject and also includes 4 Quizlets for students to revise keywords from. Would be a useful resource for Year 10 or Year 11 or even on Parent’s evenings.
NEA Guide - Design Technology (DT) GCSE

NEA Guide - Design Technology (DT) GCSE

(0)
A super simple student guide for the AQA Design Technology GCSE although it could be adapted to meet other specifications. UPDATED 2024 Simplified to include an A4 booklet version as well. A page layout guide, tips for each page and guidance on how to write different sections. This was a labour of love and has been the best guide that I have given my students.
D&T Workshop Tools Display

D&T Workshop Tools Display

(0)
Time consuming venture reflected in the price. Workshop tools display showing hand tools and workshop machinery. This was made for my classroom wall where there was nothing visual for the students to look at. The signs are made with this room in mind but is adaptable for any workshop. The focus of each is to show the tool, a working method and then what the tool is used for. Some tools are similar but show a different technique. Examples are included above. PowerPoint file included for easier personalisation. Fonts are embedded in the files - I called my display ‘Don’t call it a Thingy!’ as students were regularly forgetting the right word.
Student Loyalty Cards

Student Loyalty Cards

(0)
Loyalty Cards for use with classes. Can be customised to suit subject/reward etc. and can also have pictures added on. I have used these primarily with low ability groups for a bit of motivation which worked really well. They do inspire a bit of enthusiasm when used. Adobe and PowerPoint files included, both with an example of my personal loyalty cards on. Price to reflect effort it took to produce the original file.

Sanding Technique Helpsheet

Sanding Technique Helpsheet

(0)
A help sheet with space for samples of sandpaper to be stuck on. This help sheet was made with a low ability un-resilient group in mind but could be adapted to suit any. There is a side showing/explaining sandpaper. On the other side are the common excuses or reasons I get for not completing work to standard or ‘complaining’ after 5 minutes graft… There are also the tips I give to students to maximise the results when they are sanding by hand.
KS3/4 - Drawing Pencil of Power

KS3/4 - Drawing Pencil of Power

(0)
A pencil bookmark/table prompt/checklist for improving students design/drawing work. Meant for use primarily for secondary school students but can be adapted for Primary level students. It is pretty self explanatory once you download the file. Originally this was made during my teacher training. After finding these at the bottom of a box at my parents, I decided to share the digital version on TES. The font used on the pictures for the headings is one called ‘coffee+tea’ downloadable from DaFont.com. For my downloads, I have changed the font as it was only a demo one.
Famous Designers Table Sign
sarah_gurney16sarah_gurney16

Famous Designers Table Sign

(0)
Table centre pictures for equipment pots etc. Each one with a famous designer (AQA specification) with some products they have designed, description of themselves and a famous quote. I have used them for the table centres as well as an information finding activity. Could be permanently attached to a particular desk or move pots around so the children learn something new about a different person each time. Fully customisable with colour, font etc. Price to reflect time and effort it took to produce the resource.
Student Reward Cards
sarah_gurney16sarah_gurney16

Student Reward Cards

(0)
Reward cards for students that are ‘scratchable’ (or could be chosen from a box blindly). Examples included. When printing, scale slides on the PowerPoint document and fit to page for the Illustrator file. Personally I favour the Illustrator file. The ‘scratchable’ part measures 25mm x 25mm with the stickers being able to be bought from ebay for next to nothing. Adds a cool exiting part to the reward. I like to put certain Bitmojis with certain rewards, so I can tell which is which without scratching. It also means you could potentially give certain rewards to some e.g. the homework pass to someone who regularly completes it, not to someone who doesn’t.

IKEA Tolsby Template

A resource to put into IKEA Tolsby frames for children to have on their desks. It is designed to be printed and trimmed to fit the frames themselves. Originally a COVID-19 safety sign that I used in my classroom when the children returned to school. I have included my example as well as an editable format. Done on PowerPoint.
PowerPoint Virtual Classroom Resource

PowerPoint Virtual Classroom Resource

(0)
This was originally made during lockdown learning - a lot had appeared online - most made with google classroom importing images which seems to take forever. My school doesn’t use Google so I have done one using Microsoft. This is a PowerPoint with a couple of common classroom furniture items drawn out on the slides that you can use to create your virtual classroom. It is also easy to then add in your Bitmoji. My example is left on there just to show how I made my own. Please leave a review if you download.
